Mission 

The Streator Public Library provides material and information to help all community residents fulfill their personal and educational needs. Residents of all ages have the means to fulfill their appetites for recreational reading interests, to support formal educational needs, to support job searching needs, to provide lifelong learning, to obtain consumer information and explore their personal heritage.

Vision

The Streator Public Library's vision is to be the community's universal access point to information included in printed materials, local databases and the World Wide Web. The library will provide free materials and services to help the community of residents of all ages to meet their future educational, recreational and cultural needs. Materials will be purchased in a variety of formats to stimulate the appreciation of reading and learning. Services will be offered which allow the community access to current, timely and relevant information and knowledge. The library will support the community by preserving knowledge of the past while serving as a quality major resource of current and future information.
